Our latest interview spotlights “Disney Legend” Floyd Norman, who started working at Disney in the 1950s and became the first Black artist to remain at the studio on a long-term basis. Norman is also one of the artists featured in ‘Mickey: The Story of a Mouse’ — a new documentary premiering today on Disney+, highlighting the beloved cartoon character’s development and cultural significance around the world. “Mickey was a big part of my life as a kid,” Norman tells us, “mainly because I loved reading Mickey Mouse comic books ... never knowing that one day, I would be able to craft my own set of Mickey Mouse adventures, years and years in the future.” At the link in our bio, read our full interview with Norman about the new documentary and how Disney’s iconic character impacted his life and career.
