the night’s watch Fire lookout towers were made to do just what their name suggests-they allow the people on duty (known as fire lookouts) to watch for and report smoke and fires. When I visit these towers, I too am waiting and watching, but for the sky to catch fire. I’ve hiked to a number of fire lookout towers in Washington over the past few years, often for sunset. They offer some of the most amazing views, and I could honestly stare and watch the sunset colors fall across the endless sea of mountain layers forever. In frame: @sonyays.jpg
