🌼 Have you heard of The Grootbos Florilegium? 🖼️ Our Global Ecosphere Retreats® (GER) member @grootbos recently initiated this collection of beautiful, distinctive botanical art pieces in the form of a gallery and book. ⁠ ⁠ What fuelled them was their intention to engage people on an emotional level and inspire them to become ambassadors to help conserve and promote the Cape Floral Kingdom and the majesty of the Cape fynbos. ⁠ ⁠ 🎨 The Grootbos Florilegium is a world collaboration of 44 top botanical artists. Some took months to complete their work as botanical art requires the very finest technical drawing skills to depict the plants' individual features in intricate detail. ⁠ ⁠ Aside from being the first contemporary florilegium in Africa, the Grootbos Florilegium is a homage to the central Grootbos vision of conservation of the Cape Floral Kingdom. ⁠ ⁠ 💐 Grootbos has a legacy of 25 years of documenting and conserving the Cape Floristic Kingdom both on Grootbos and across the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy.
