Sunset in Blue Mesa, Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona. This image was photographed when I was an artist-in-residence in Petrified Forest National Park back in 2015. Being a national park's artist-in-residence is an amazing and unique experience, I was given a small house in the middle of this 146,930 acres national park and I am all by myself from sunset to sunrise, which mean that I am one of the very few people who can photograph sunrise and sunset in the park. The park is the only national park that closes the gate at night, and there's nowhere to stay the night, for preventing the petrified woods being stolen.
