The thick buddy here is the Saimaa ringed seal – one of the most endangered seals in the world. 🦭The total existing population is only around 400 individuals living in Lake Saimaa in Finland. 💦Don’t let the chubby appearance lead you astray. Seals spend most of their life in water and are excellent swimmers. One dive can last up to 20 minutes. 📍 Seal the deal and see this rare species in its natural habitat. The best chance for you to lock eyes with this large-eyed mammal is in the northern parts of Lake Saimaa within the Finnish national parks of Kolovesi and Linnansaari.
