‘After breast cancer, are you still a woman? The breast, symbol of feminity and maternity is hurt, modified, deleted. The woman loses her confidence, finds it hard to look at herself and be seen naked. The scars reminder daily of this painful event. What if, thanks to a photoshoot, women can finally love their bruised body and find it pretty? The beauty in yours scars.’ It took me six months to publish this story as it is a very personal one. I photographed last September a group of women who survive breast cancer, among them is my mother, who also wrote the introduction above. She supported me in this project from day one, helped me to convince others women to be part of it even if herself hates tone photographed more than anything. More than a photoshoot it was an experience for everyone involved, a moment we won’t forget. I see beauty behind their scars and I wanted them to feel it too. My amazing team @roxanemercerat and @latelierbeautebylise helped me to accomplish this. I am humbled and grateful to those powerful women. Those words are from @florencemann_ and this is the result of how we felt these unforgettabe stories. --- Portrait of Marie, September 2021, Perpignan With Marie, we talked about her newly passion for her vegetables patch, a strong and vivid connection she experienced with nature. A rebirth starting from her retirement.
