๐ง Those with ADHD tend to hyperfocus on the tasks that they find interesting, and procrastinate the tasks that they deem as boring.
๐ This means that individuals with ADHD/ADD often struggle with time management and distinguishing between whatโs important vs. whatโs not.
๐ In addition, if the task or project at hand feels overwhelming, there can be a sense of paralysis that makes it feel impossible to get started or make progress.
๐ Interestingly enough, those with ADD work really well under pressure. When there is a deadline or a sense of urgency to complete a project, the ADD brain gets a rush of adrenaline and dopamine. This results in motivation + intensity+ hyperfocus kicking into gear. This allows the individual to *usually* get the task done in time to make the deadline.
Itโs important to note that this way of completing tasks also comes with A LOT of stress, frustration, anxiety, and sleepless nights. ๐
