I still remember the moment I told my supervisor that I was going to write my dissertation on Beyoncé. There was a looooooong silence but I stood my ground, got a first and never looked back. Now that dissertation has grown to be part of my debut book being published next year & I am heading back to @stedmundhall @oxford_uni tomorrow to talk about joy, resistance and Black women’s intellectual future.
