Sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze. Joni and I turned off the road at Lake Lucerne and hiked intermittent rain and a constant thick fog guided by the sound of cow bells, his recollection of the trail and me sneaking a look at the map a time or two. It was day two in Switzerland, I was jet lagged and sleep deprived but did my best to keep up - quickly reminded of how strong(and fast) of hikers the Swiss are. When we finally arrived and set down our gear the fog ebbed and flowed through the hills, opaque with periods of brief reprise teasing the views that I was still uncertain existed.
