As I mentioned before, I’ve decided to start sharing our playroom toy rotations despite the inevitable backlash I may get for the amount of toys that we have. It’s important to note that kids don’t need this many toys. The nature of my work combined with very generous friends and family members over the years means we have A LOT of toys. And I want those toys to be loved and played with, which is why we do toy rotations. Toy rotations are a great way to keep kids engaged with carefully selected and displayed toys to avoid overwhelming a child with too many choices which can often result in clutter, disorganization, and toys not being played with at all. And before you say, Michelle, it’s December, why are we still seeing Halloween decorations? Well, all I have to say is taking care of my kiddos and editing videos didn’t exactly align with this one! So save these ideas for NEXT year. I aim to rotate monthly, but that doesn’t always happen, and that’s ok! The toys I rotated in November won’t be swapped out until January because I’lll be too busy with the holidays and traveling to dedicate the time to make the switch. One of the other reasons it’s taken me so long to post this is because I spend a lot of time compiling all the details about each toy and where you can get them, which you can find on my website. Again, kids don’t need this many toys. Frankly, they don’t need any toys at all, and could use their imaginations in incredible ways. But our playroom toy rotations are a big part of our life, and I share it because, perhaps, a small part of it can inspire your play! - #toyrotations #playideas #toyideas #activitiesforkids #toddlerplay #preschoolplay #babyplay
