@ktbhair3 :: I get asked this question all the time. How do you apply a toner to your hair when the extensions are still installed? Extensions will absorb the toner so fast that this is how I apply it to prevent the extensions from becoming a color you don’t want them to be. -first you need to section out all of the hair. Then I will take the extensions and drape them over the side of the sink on each side. This will keep them out of the way when I’m applying my all over toner to the freshly colored hair. Also if this is a maintenance appointment this is how I do it as well. -apply your toner to all of the natural hair. Let it process for its full time. Then once there’s just a few minutes left combine the extension hair with the natural hair and work that toner through the extensions. It only needs to sit for a short time keep an eye on the extensions especially if you have any ash in your formula you do not want that on those extensions for long at all even just a few seconds just a pop it on -A pro tip when you do need to tone extensions always always always use a warm gloss. Even if they want a platinum or a ash you need to use warmth in your formula or you could end up with purple green and crazy colored extensions.
