Itβs back to school so we've prepared some Nomad facts for you π
The compound that causes this smell is called alquil-metoxipirazina (pyrazine) and is found in coffee as well as green peppers, beetroot and even certain types of grape π«π
Not to worry, it is only found in coffee in very small quantities which are only brought out by a certain fungus that is transported inside the beans by a little insect called Antestia.
PTD occurs most commonly in East African countries like Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Take notes class: our number 1 tip to avoid this is to grind small quantities of beans at one time, this way you will be able to avoid the sneaky bean affecting your whole bag! β¨
