To register: http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07ej1yxjza5b97333a&llr=n9a5jwdab This fast-paced class provides an introduction to understanding and laying out classical architecture through a study of the Ionic Order. Students of all abilities will learn the proportions, details and essential parts of classical architecture by laying out a column, entablature, and pediment. The class will end with a sketch problem combining these elements to create a classical door aedicula and a typical façade. Most importantly, you will learn why the study of the classical orders is an essential foundation in the study and practice of architecture whether traditional or contemporary. David Rinehart is a Los Angeles-based architect with broad experience in the design of multi- and single-family residences, mixed-use developments, institutional buildings, as well as master planning and urban design. Mr. Rinehart joined Moule & Polyzoides in early 2019, following over ten years at Robert A.M. Stern Architects in New York. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame, with a minor in classical literature and a concentration in furniture design.
