Five years ago when I started dating @shanjean I didn't really know what she did. I just knew she worked in healthcare. Turns out she was training to be an Orthopaedic surgeon. I also had no concept of how intense and incredibly demanding the residency program would be. I didn't know she'd work 80 to 100 hours a week, which included working through the weekends, and or nights. I kinda knew in her "free" time she'd often make the 3 hr drive to Smith Rock to climb which is how we met. Over these last few years I have been absolutely amazed at what SJ is able to get done. We have gone on numerous international climbing trips, she climbed El Cap without aiders, she lead her first ice and mixed climb, sent 13+ on gear and climbed her first 5.14. All of this while becoming a surgeon! I honestly have no idea where she gets her energy but I do know she is hands down the hardest working person I have ever met (by a long shot.) And she puts up with my crazy schedule. Huge congratulations to SJ for graduating residency this weekend. I am so incredibly proud of her.
