It was an amazing honor to paint along side @alpha_beta_tone and represent @instituteofamericanindianarts in this fabulous piece. Words will never express how much both Tony and IAIA mean to me. When I first showed up on campus with my uncle, I remember being nervous and worried about not fitting in or not keeping my grades up. The community there fully embraced me and made sure I knew I wasn’t alone. The friends I made there have become family, my teachers became mentors not just in my career but in my life. So it only felt fitting to express something that everyone that steps foot at IAIA goes through, which is that first day of school.
