The O.U.R. Caribbean Team, led by an outstanding operator / Regional Operations Director, who is a former Navy Seal, met with the Dominican Republic Anti-Trafficking Agency (PETT) this week. They are discussing the preeminent role O.U.R. played in the 9 month long operation called Op Catleya. We’ve supported over a dozen operations in the DR since the first one I led in 2014. During that first op, we rescued several minors (who all received long-term aftercare) and assisted with the arrest and conviction of 7 traffickers. Last night, PETT gave this beautiful award to OUR. It translates as follows: “The Public Ministry Department of Investigations recognizes Operation Underground Railroad for your immediate response and collaboration to this agency, lending yourselves as a backbone of continuous dedication and unconditional support that has been a crucial part in realizing our operations, promoting at all times the valor of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Given in the city of Santo Domingo the 1st day of September 2022.” The O.U.R. Regional Operations Director met with PETT Special Prosecutor for Human Trafficking, Joanna Alvarez, and also with DR Attorney General Miriam Germán Brito. Other O.U.R. Team members in attendance included Matt Osborne, former CIA, and Ali Serano, O.U.R. Chief Legal Officer, who served for 18 years as an Assistant United States Attorney fighting human trafficking and child exploitation. Over the next several weeks, we, along with PETT, will be putting out even more details, including docs and undercover video, of all the work we did and are doing on Operation Catleya, including the unbelievable effort of O.U.R. Aftercare to repatriate what is now over 30 survivors to their home country. (Others have decided to stay in the DR and we are supporting them as well). What a blessing that their home country is one where O.U.R. has also been since 2014, allowing us to provide them with already-established aftercare resources.
