I am beyond angry and upset about the news of attacks on AAPIs. As a person of color who had my own experiences with racism, I feel obligated to rise for my asian community. The racism that is escalating each and everyday just breaks my heart. Ethnicity has never been a virus. Stop treating it as if it is a disease. It is part of our identity and who we are. Rather treating it as something to hide and be ashamed of it is something to be proud of. 🌿 The other day my friend asked me what I think of non Asians who speak up on these topics as people who are privileged enough to not have to experience racism. I told her that it’s great as I feel like the whole world should know more about of this. Staying silent on this matter would be far worse. People who never experienced racism won’t fully understand the scars that we carry with it but you can always educate yourself on this topic to gain a better understanding on it. ✨
