OWL TALK with Ellen Kalish at SHELTER - Please join us tomorrow, Saturday, August 27, 12 noon at SHELTER for an OWL TALK with Ellen Kalish, Director of Ravensbeard Wildlife Center. This special event is presented in coordination with artist Ian Laughlin whose owl nesting project TREETOP DINER is on view at SHELTER, an outdoor sculpture exhibition organized by Melinda Stickney-Gibson. Yes, owls and raptors will be present! Ellen Kalish will bring 5 birds of prey to share with the audience. Each bird has a name and a story of why they are not able to return to the wild. We talk about how old they live, what they eat, and the natural history of each bird and its role as apex predators. SHELTER is located at the historic White Pines property, 454 Upper Byrdcliffe Road, Woodstock NY. This event is free and open to the public; reservations not required. Rain date: Sunday, August 28th at 12 noon.
