God is orchestrating a miracle at UT. When I started my sophomore year, this ministry was fledgling. 5 (or sometimes less) of us would meet in a fraternity house to try to dream and plan ways for us to reach our campus with the good news of Jesus. What i have seen since then is nothing short of an absolute miracle. I want to be clear that the miracle involved here is not JUST 500+ students gathering a few times this semester, great music, or awesome sermons. That’s part of it, but truly the biggest blessing in this crazy journey has been the active pouring out of God’s Spirit over our campus. That looks like the pews being lined with 50+ students who are praying desperately for God to move before events. It looks like the BYX composite room being full of students who were all in to reach out campus on Wednesday nights. It looks like day-before prayer meetings, with students in tears on their knees crying out to a Holy God to come do what only He can do. It looks like His provision in every sense of the word for our ministry. It looks like people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s telling me they’ve been praying for God to move at UT for decades. And perhaps most of all, it looks like stories impacted by what He is doing. Like students getting involved in Christian community for the first time. Like students hearing the gospel for the very first time, some of whom are from halfway across the world. It looks like broken, sinful, hurting people finding a refuge in their Sovereign King, Christ Jesus. Leading this ministry, hearing those stories, and experiencing those moments, has been far and away the greatest blessing of my time at UT. And the best part is that it’s just beginning. My biggest hope for my time in @revivetexasmin is to see a campus transformed for the glory of God. To hear more stories of salvation, life change, and freedom. To connect students to churches to shepherd them for the rest of their lives. And above all else, to continue to witness the Spirit of God move, and just marvel in awestruck wonder.
