When I met my biological mother for the first time in 2013, one of the questions I asked her was: “Where did my name come from?” Her response: “I named you after the Little Mermaid. You were born the same year the movie was released.”🧜🏽‍♀️ It was crazy to learn this fact because The Little Mermaid was one of my favorite movies as a child. And even as an adult, I joke that I’m a mermaid because I LOVE being around water. It calms me. It brings me peace. It gives me permission to be STILL.
