UCLA rising junior @victor.shi12 was chosen to intern at the @whitehouse through the UCDC "Summer In Washington" program. Shi shared a few of the highlights from the experience. “This Summer, I have the honor and privilege of being an intern at the White House. UCLA played a formative role in getting me here by allowing me to be a part of the UCDC program. I have always been interested in politics and history, and being where all the action happens has been surreal. In addition to the cool moments like meeting President Biden or being in the West Wing, every day when I walk into work I am reminded of how vital of a role public service plays in America. Seeing dedicated and hard-working public servants motivates me to do what I can to help — no matter how big or small. I have also met, and become friends with, a wide range of people across the UC system. This will definitely be a summer and internship I will never forget.”
