I first heard the golden rule as a child in my small church in Closter, NJ. Since, I have seen it from the writings of Socrates, to eastern faiths and more. It is a profoundly human ideal or virtue. We all love to be seen, to be valued, to receive kindness and even grace (unmerited generosity of spirit and deed) and so much more. The Golden Rule then sets a high standard. Treating others as we want to be treated, being empathetic enough to know how to lift others as we want to be lifted: this simple sounding virtue is hard to make real every day, in every way. And yet, it is a principal worthy of perpetual and persistent practice. #CoryStories
