Hi!! I’m Alissa! I’ve noticed a lot of new faces around here, so I figured it’s time I reintroduce myself. I’m a hairstylist based in Traverse City who loves lived-in color and hair extensions. I specialize in creating low maintenance looks that make your life easier while still making you feel like that girl. This is a page FOR THE GIRLS 🫶🏼 I’ve trained with some of the top extension educators in the country and bring that knowledge right back to my clients and area. I offer K-tips, beaded row extensions, and specialize in all things blonding. Outside of the salon, you can find me reading, cooking, hanging out with friends, or chasing around my two very naughty—but extremely cute—wiener dogs. I love staying active, whether it’s walking or jogging the Boardman Loop or hitting a workout class. I’ve always loved hair. Growing up, I insisted on styling my own (thankfully, I’ve retired the roll-on glitter gel I once used for slick-backs 😅). I didn’t realize it was a skill or that it could turn into a career. When I was 18, I got completely hooked on Gossip Girl. The outfits and hair were everything (although, watching now.. slightly cringe 😉). I’d binge the DVDs Netflix mailed to me (LOL) and immediately try to recreate Lily’s chic updos, Serena’s boho braids, or Blair’s polished curls and headbands. Before long, my sister’s friends were booking me for prom, and coworkers were asking me to do their hair for nights out. I was in college at the time, absolutely dreading a future in the medical field. Scrubs?! No headbands?! I was panicking. I ended up talking to a friend’s mom who was a hairstylist and the breadwinner in her family. I asked, “okay, how do I do this?” She gave me the name of a school, I dropped out of college, and never looked back. It’s wild how the little things like DVD’s rented from Netflix and roll on glitter hair gel can totally reroute your life. I’ll never stop learning because growth keeps this career exciting for me. I want to keep evolving both as a stylist and a person. I feel so lucky to do what I love, and I’m genuinely happy you’re here to be part of it!
