The old me would have panicked about a boat trip with friends - I’d have starved myself before the holiday, avoided pictures, spent the entire time covered up until the very last minute where I’d jump in the water so fast just in hope of no one seeing me with my top off. That was my life literally until about 4 years ago. I’m seeing so much content on here about September resets and while this is good for organising (I’m a Virgo) I just want you to know it doesn’t have to apply to your physical form. Unfortunately we’re conditioned to think thin is the ultimate nirvana and while being healthy is absolutely a focus we should have, being healthy and being thin are two very different pillars. I’ve spent the last 4 years self teaching and reprogramming my brain to like myself more. To distance myself from toxic circles, to repeatedly say positive affirmations to myself and to accept and appreciate my body because without it, she’s in the ground. If you want to make a change try a new type of exercise, or perhaps start cooking foods you’ve never experience, diet culture can play havoc with our heads and our bodies just want us to be happy and healthy. So for September try this: go swimming, try a new work out, be naked, appreciate your human form and live your life body shame free. I am and it feels so much more joyful than it did before. #bodyconfidence #dietculture #selflove #selflovejourney
