Our peppermint stick ice cream is back for its fifth year in a row. It is one of my favorite flavors we’ve ever made. We start with a rich custard of cream, milk, egg yolks and cane sugar, we then freeze and spin this into a soft serve consistency and fold in organic peppermint candy. It’s difficult to source the organic peppermint candy, but it’s important to us as we will not use any artificial coloring or high fructose corn syrup in our ice creams, which most of the peppermint candies have. This one is made with just cane sugar, organic peppermint extract, and organic beet juice for a color. What I love about this flavor is as the candy mixes and partially melts into the ice cream, it creates a marshmallowy, fluffy, velvety texture! (Also our “Oreo” topping is housemade too, free of palm oil and partially hydrogenated fats!) If you can make it by one of our scoop shops or see this in a supermarket, definitely give it a try.
