This is not because I’m a game player; on the contrary, my very analogue aesthetic understanding of character building is satisfied by the psychological complexity and philosophical dialectics explored, composed and manifested through the work. Where the ambivalence lies between storytelling and artistic statement demonstrates Cheng’s unique accomplishment of presenting an uncanny world through authentic and nuanced sensibility.
