Through our Twiga Wetu (Swahili for ‘Our Giraffe’) Initiative we are expanding our successful environmental education programmes across Africa. In Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda, in collaboration with our partner Snares to Wares we bring school children from the surrounding communities to the park to experience wildlife first hand and visit the impressive falls - often for the first time in their lives! On a recent trip the children were joined by 14 UWA trainee rangers, who talked about their work and aspects of conservation, including the impact of snares on the wildlife.
