It’s time for happy hour and our resident bartender has a cocktail for you to mix up. Jason O’Bryan (@drinksanddrinking) presents a holiday drink for those of us who love egg nog but want to try something a little different. The Peanut Malt Flip has the rich creaminess of holiday nog, but with a healthy helping of Macallan and a dollop of peanut butter to take it to another level. Here’s the recipe for those mixing at home:
- 2 oz. scotch
- 1 oz. cream
- 0.75 oz. simple syrup
- 1 tbsp. peanut butter
- 1 egg
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, seal tight, and shake without ice for about five seconds to whip and emulsify the egg. Add ice and shake for 10 to 12 seconds, strain into a large coupe or wine glass and garnish with some freshly grated nutmeg over the top.
