In 1977, @chickiesandpetes opened in Philadelphia, taking over a small neighborhood taproom in Mayfair in the northeast of the city. At the time, Peter and Henrietta Ciarrocchi named it after their nicknames, and by 1987, their son Pete was running the place, adding his spin on crab fries. They younger Ciarrocchi had bigger dreams, and found a location near the former Veterans Stadium, home of the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies, to build out a sports bar where fans could cheer. He went on to create an empire of 19 sports bars, mostly around Philly, and now adds Las Vegas to the fold. Chickie’s & Pete’s opened at the @saharalasvegas with a roster of crabfries, seafood favorites, and just about anything sports fans can eat with their hands.
