And into the mountain 🥾⛰️🤙🏽, I go, to lose my mind and find my soul. Yesterday was history for me to finally cross my bucket list to hike a 14er. Special thanks for my homeboy @ahmxd.fauzi ⁣ For some of you who never hear about 14er before, a fourteener is a mountain peak with an elevation of at least 14,000 ft (4267 m). The 96 fourteeners in the United States are all west of the Mississippi River. Colorado has the most (53) of any single state⁣ ⁣ If you are into hiking and you’d like to upgrade your skills and are up for a challenge, you definitely have to try 14er. ⁣ ⁣ This one is my first time, we went to Mt. Bierstadt (14.065 f) right above the city of Georgetown by I-70. The trail length is about 7.8 miles and elevation gain it’s about 2785 ft⁣ ⁣ We did start our hike around 7 am and made it to the top around 11:15 am. We take 30 mins break and finally make it back to the parking lot around 2 pm⁣ ⁣ Some notes as a first-timer to 14er:⁣ ⁣ - go easy with your bag, the lighter the better. 2 liters of water should be enough. Carry necessary items only⁣ - Snack-like trails mix and jerky was a good choice for a tough hike like this⁣ - Dress layer, always bring you shade, hat, and sunscreen ⁣ - Bring a hiking pole. It helps me a lot when we go up and also when you go down. Reduce too much impact on your foot⁣ - Pace yourself. No shame to walk 10 steps and take a break⁣ - The mental breakdown is real, the weather, thin oxygen, the altitudes. This activity requires not only physically most importantly mentally strong ⁣ ⁣ The biggest wall you’ve got to climb is the one you’ve built in your mind.⁣ ⁣ Would you like to try 14er soon?
