In 2018, we met Yemeni baby Fawaz who was facing severe acute malnutrition. On the brink of death, he spent two months in the hospital. But after intense treatment and against all odds, Fawaz made it through. A few months after his release from the hospital in March 2019, he was already transformed. And by December 2020, Fawaz was taking his first steps. Now, he is a healthy and beautiful five-year-old with sparkling eyes and a big smile. More than 80% of Yemenis live below the poverty line and struggle to access food, safe drinking water and adequate health services.
