Five years ago I started thinking about the South China Sea as a nexus of contemporary capitalist production, and fashion as an interface to study it. Now it’s a beautiful exhibition 👒 In sweet collaboration with @poppydxwu, this exhibition truly developed into an endless garment of its own over 2 years, fraying and transforming as we all navigated the pandemic. While neither myself or most of the artists are able to experience this show in person, it’s certainly a testament to the enduring power of transnational fashion networks - a generator of kinship, exchange, collaboration, and style.
