I’m beyond grateful to spend the next few weeks at the gorgeous @civitellaranieri Located in a 15th-century castle in the Umbrian region of Italy, Civitella is a residency programme for international writers, composers, and visual artists. Since 1995, Civitella has hosted more than 800 Fellows and Director’s Guests. Ursula Corning, the founder of Civitella, was a gifted linguist who spent her life crossing borders with ease. Since I arrived here yesterday, I’ve already met an extremely multicultural group of artists and writers, who, like myself, have been in awe of the staff’s hospitality, attention to detail, environmental awareness, cultural authenticity, and a most genuine supportiveness of exchanges and curiosity.
