The reality of quitting your 9-5. I’ll be honest, when I quit my full-time job 6 years ago, I had a fantasy idea of what life would be life self-employed. I thought I’d have so much more free time because I’d no longer have to work a full day then spend the nights and weekends on my side hustle. I even bought an annual art gallery pass thinking I’d have the time visit at least once per week! I visited once that whole year. There are a lot of people on this app that are selling this dream of quitting the 9-5 and earning income while you work on your laptop from the beach. Being your own boss is a lot of work and you still don’t have 100% control over your schedule if you work with clients with deadlines like I do. This reel is literally me finishing up filming a YouTube video for a sponsor at 10pm last night because that was the only time I had to film it since my day was so slammed with other work. Passive income my a** 😂 But... if you love what you do, it can still be worth it. Despite some long days, tight deadlines, and irregular income, I love being self-employed.
