Crovie sits at the bottom of a cliff on the Moray Firth coast, and is one of the best-preserved fishing villages in Scotland.
It used to be a fishing village until 1953 when a storm washed away some of it and made it impossible for the fishermen to carry on working from there. The village consists of a line of houses with only a small path in front of them and no room for any vehicles. Behind the houses is a steep cliff and at the top of the cliff is a car park where you can stop and look below at this enchanting little out of the way village.
The houses are used as self-catering holiday lets now so a great place to find if you really want to get away from it all.
