I wouldn't recommend this process for kitchen cabinets. Go to yellowbrickhome.com where we have a tutorial for that! I'm using leftover wall paint, which is protected by Polycrylic. But if you're starting from scratch, I'd recommend buying a quart of ENAMEL paint. Enamel dries to a harder finish, and is more resistant to dings and scuffs.
