On May 15, 2022 @ 3:13 AM, we summited Mt. Everest. The highest point in the world. ( 8,848.86 m / 29,031.7 ft) The whole trip hasn’t quite settled in yet but as I write this it feels a bit like a dream. To have a goal for so long and finally accomplish it feels ineffable but all the sudden I also feel sort of lost. I’ve had this mountain consume so much of my mental space for 10 years. Now, it’s oddly quiet. As I reflect back on the last 7 weeks all I can think to say is how grateful I am for God, my health, Beautiful Paige, my family/friends support and Dawa Tenzing Sherpa for helping me make it happen. I don’t believe you constantly have to be on the short end of the rope to appreciate what you have at home but the exercise of looking at your life and peeling back what is really important is hands down the most rewarding thing climbing and this mountain has provided me. From the bottom of my heart thank you to everyone that has sent prayers, messages, texts, calls and the constant overwhelming support. It gave me strength and I am eternally grateful.
