Today is World Vet Nurse Day, a day where we are all reminded to acknowledge the incredible contribution of a number of individuals who dedicate their lives to saving and caring for the world's wildlife. Across both our two zoos Taronga cares for over 5,000 animals from 350 unique species and sees close to 1,500 wildlife cases every single year. And the level of care dedication wouldn't be achievable without the continuous support and role our amazing Vet Nurses play within our organizations. So today, we would like to take the time to not only acknowledge but also thank them for the long hours worked, the highs and lows they experience and the sheer perseverance and dedication that they possess.
