My brother from another mother Kunio Hagio has passed on to be reunited with the love of his life Paulette. Kunio and I met over the phone back in the early 80's when I called on him to illustrate a story about John Belushi. (We ended up winning the Gold medal at the NY Art Director's club that year for it), and it started a beautiful friendship of not only the 2 of us, but of our families. Even living in different states, we managed to make the most of the times that we got to share with each other and both our families have stories upon stories to tell our children and grandchildren. People might not know him by name, but some of the most famous illustrations over the past 40 years came from his beautiful hands. I'll miss you brother... until we meet again
