Here’s a few of my fav ways to darken my blondies, yet still allow you to go back blonde for summer 💛
- change the overall tone
I’m a big fan of golden blondes right now! They have so much more shine & compliment most skin tones more than an icy blonde
- drop down lowlights -
This is a go to for me! I love adding dimension back into my blondes. & these don’t have to be dark! I usually go for a level 7/8 lowlight, just enough to add contrast & make the blonde hair pop more. Sometimes I’ll pull these all the way through & sometimes just halfway through so the ends stay bright
- deepen your root shade -
Even if it’s just by 1 or 2 levels! This is so fun to do especially in the fall bc you can really get a feel of having more depth in your hair while all of your ends are still bright! Plus it will help your hair grow out even softer!
- drag your root shade down further -
Aka, color melt! This can sound scary, but some of my favorite heads of hair are ones that aren’t afraid to really have depth at the base that melts seamlessly into their blonde ends
- bright, blended money peice -
This helps you stay super bright all around the face, even if you have depth throughout the rest of your hair. & it will grow off soft
Lately I’ve been doing a mixture of all of these techniques & LOVING it! I’m super into warmer, more dimensional blondes for fall & it’s been such a fun change up ☺️
