reflections on autumn
I snapped this self-portrait on what would be the last sunset hike of this summer. As I stood out watching the image of an inverted Mt Shuksan rippling in the water, I thought about the end of summer adventures and the season to come.
I often feel a sense of nostalgia whenever the fall season rolls around. I’m reminded of the back-to-school days, of the first months that I started living in Washington, and of the fact that the year comes to an end in just a few months. I have very fond memories associated with growing up on the East Coast when I think of fall as well—pumpkin patches, apple picking, and county fairs all come to mind. As much as I love living in Washington, there are some East Coast/New York things that will always have a special place in my heart.
