i almost didn’t make the @oktarot because i was afraid of not drawing well enough and questioning my right to make a deck at all... for two years it floated in the back of my mind before eventually i remembered that it’s a big world and we can all fit, so i just tried — why not? — with research and support from a few key folks in the community (including @amunarhealing who wrote interpretation keywords for the booklet). the final deck is pleasant and inviting and not scary and just very my vibe, which is about transparency (the imperfect handwriting is distinctly human i hope) and turning simple materials into something magical. it’s not a traditional “publication day” because this isn’t a traditional release, but i got to go to @dashophnl and carefully open and sign 100 boxes so i felt the full author fantasy today. thanks to everyone who preordered from them and other indie bookstores. remember you have until the end of this week to upload your purchase receipt (from any retailer) at reward.oktarot.com and get a free cotton handkerchief, courtesy of @tarcherperigee and @penguinrandomhouse. thank you i love you! 💗
