I remember at one point during the pandemic wondering if anyone made nice single-serving bottles of wine. I asked at my local liquor store and all they had were the sad airplane bottles of not-great wine so I moved on. Knowing how much work wine makers put into their product, the idea of pouring the contents of an unfinished bottle down the drain makes me feel incredibly wasteful. But there are only so many ziploc bags full of wine you can stash in your freezer for that boeuf bourguinon you might never make. Wine purists might hate this, but the reality is a lot of folks don’t buy wine because they never finish a bottle before the wine turns.
