Hi 👋 Jane here, co-founder & CEO of Anya. With some new friends here, wanted to introduce myself & why I started this company. 7 years ago I became pregnant with my first child - I was the first of my friends to go through it, so I prepared for becoming a mom according to what the internet and my OB told me. Like so many moms, I was shocked to find that the reality of postpartum was wildly different from what I read in ‘What to Expect’ or saw on social media. After spending 9 months growing a baby and prepping my body for birth, there was simply no talk of birth recovery and what my body would go through in the year to follow. I knew I wasn’t alone. I talked to hundreds of moms and practitioners across women’s health, and everyone said the same thing: there is no recognition of the physiological impact of 9 months of pregnancy and childbirth on a woman’s body - and things need to change. What I learned is that if you support your body with the right things, postpartum can be easier. There are things we can do to address depletion, help our bodies handle the effects of hormonal shifts, stress and sleep deprivation, we can even help our hair grow back after postpartum shedding. Alongside doctors, practitioners, advisors and scientists, we built Anya to prepare women for what to expect, and make it simple for moms to get what they need. We’re here to take the mystery out of the postpartum experience. It’s about time. Thank you to this incredible community for all of your support and positivity - we can’t wait to share what’s next!
