My 28th year of life was one for the books! Biblically 8 is the number that symbolizes new beginnings and the three times in my life so far that I’ve had an 8 in my age has proven that to be true. Whether is was entering into a time of life where I was fully healthy for the first time, entering adulthood/college, or entering into a new era of self confidence the number 8 has brought plenty of great new beginnings into my life. I even got married on the 8th day of the 8th month of the year, for real, 8’s are my thing! 28 was the year I chose to really focus on pursuing my passion for performing. I may not have landed every role that I auditioned for, but the ones I did were all brand new to me and they brought me a lot of joy and many new friends! I finally decided to take the issues I had with my tonsils seriously and have them removed after years of refusing to do so. It was a bit of a challenge learning to use my voice again but I know making the choice to finally have the tonsillectomy was the right one! I know this because the role I got immediately after healing from my surgery, the role that fully solidified me entering into my Queen era, Rachel Marron in the Bodyguard would not have been something I could’ve done had I not had the surgery. A role that wasn’t originally on my radar, but now I get to check it off my dream roles bucket list! Year 28 truly was a blessing for me, there is so much that I could say about it! The blessings that God has showered upon me this past year have built up a self confidence in myself that I haven’t had in some time. When I look back on the year I remember so much good that happened and it outweighs the struggles that I also faced. I’m sad to see 28 go as historically 9 hasn’t been kind to me, but I’m going to stay positive and believe that the seeds planted in 28 will flourish into something beautiful in 29! So, here’s to going into my final year of my twenties and continuing my Queen Era!!! #itsmybirthday P.S. thank you to my sister @la.viathan for getting me this beautiful crown last year!
