RANGER JEN: Look, Kirby. Everything the light touches is our national park. RANGER KIRBY: Everything the light touches... but what about that shadowy place? RANGER JEN: That’s beyond our borders. You should go there too because it’s the national forest and it’s similarly incredible. [SCENE] The North Cascades are a mosaic of protected areas with six different named public lands. (It’s complicated, but can you name them all?) ⛰️ North Cascades National Park Service Complex is made up of North Cascades National Park, Ross Lake National Recreation Area, and Lake Chelan National Recreation Area. ⛰️ Nearby, Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest and Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest (where this photo was taken) lie to the east and west of the park. These two areas are public lands administered by the U.S. Forest Service. ⛰️ To the north of the US-Canada border, is Skagit Valley Provincial Park and Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park in British Columbia, Canada. Our mosaic of public lands shares borders, diverse landscapes, and a magnificent portion of the earth to explore! NPS Photo/J.V.G
