There were whispers that @jonimitchell was at @newportfolkfest, but no one dared believed it until @brandicarlile introduced Mitchell during the second half of her “Bandi Carlile & Friends” set. It was historic performance, marking the first time Mitchell had performed live since 2002, and the first time she’d returned to the Newport stage since 1969.
