We have the honor to be screening a sneak peek of the new film “Wade in the Water”, followed by a panel discussion featuring the filmmakers and representatives from @black_surfing_rockaway, @stop_playinwithem and @stationsurfshop. “This project aims to empower the Black community with knowledge of the ancestral lineage connecting us to surfing and the ocean,” said David Mesfin(@davidmesfinart), Wade in the Water’s Creative Director. “Our documentary is the first full-length feature film about Black surfers by a Black director. It includes the voices of historians, Black surf pioneers and current Black surf advocates - all of which are showcased in the artwork.”
