NYFW Day 1 Pt. II because you KNOW there were outfit changes 🤠 We headed to Brooklyn for a pop-up for the lovely @_meganocain from the latest season of @nextinfashion! I was a huge fan of Megan’s on the show, so it was fun to meet her and shop all her unique and colorful pieces IRL. I had the vision of this set in my head for months and fashion week felt like the perfect excuse to bring it to life. Extra proud of this one because every single element of it was thrifted! From the vintage bedsheet fabric (shocker, I know lol) to the eyelet trim, the satin ribbon, and even the thread. Pattern made by me! I tried to challenge myself to NOT panic-buy a bunch of new things for this trip but I will admit, these @jeffreycampbell sparkly mary janes were the one exception. And honestly…no regrets. The best part of this night though was meeting so many fellow creatives who value sustainability in fashion, shopping small or secondhand, and making and upcycling your own clothes. It was such a breath of fresh air, especially in an environment like fashion week that can be SO steeped in overconsumption and aristocracy. We LOVE to see people in the thick of it changing the industry from the inside out.
