New York always feels a bit different after Labor Day, school is back, you get an extra spring in your step, break out a jacket, plus the happy hour crowd is out...it’s SEPTEMBER. And the new @aman New York is finally here, a five plus year labor of love in the historic Crown Building. The entrance is just off Fifth—it feels a bit like Fort Knox to get in—but if you are a hotel guest staying in one of the 83 rooms, or one of their new club members, you get whisked up to the 14th floor and a world of soaring ceilings and extravagant materials and outdoor space—a true luxury, in Manhattan. I had the chance to do a tour recently, couldn’t get over the rooms: washi paper on the walls, leather lined drawers, fireplaces, that 🛀 the whole nine yards.
